The Republic of Ghana today Wednesday, March 6, 2019, turns 62 years since it attained independence on March 6, 1957 from British Over 100 years of colonial rule.

Previously known as the Gold Coast, Ghana was the first Sub-Saharan African country to become independent on the back of Ghana’s first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.

The celebration will be marked with the traditional march past and parade in Tamale. The march will feature the active participation of school children alongside security personnel.

For the first time in the history of Ghana, the Independence Day celebration has been moved from the national capital, Accra, to Tamale.

Using MTN Me2U

Before you can transfer credit, you have to change the default pin which is 0000.

How to reset MTN Me2u Pin

You can change the default PIN by sending a text message with default PIN NewPIN New PIN to 777. For example, to change the default PIN, send an SMS with ‘0000 1234 1234’ to 777.

How can one register for the service (Me2U)

Type <register><4-digit pin number> send to 1329 or

Dial *198# reply with 1 and follow the prompts.

How do I transfer airtime?

US Imposes Visa Restrictions on Ghana

The United States said it was imposing visa restrictions on Ghana, accusing the African country of not cooperating in accepting its citizens ordered removed from the United States.

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo “has ordered consular officers in Ghana to implement visa restrictions on certain categories of visa applicants,” the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said in a statement.

“Without an appropriate response from Ghana, the scope of these sanctions may be expanded to a wider population,” the statement said.

“Ghana has failed to live up to its obligations under international law to accept the return of its nationals ordered removed from the United States,” said DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said.

“We hope the Ghanaian government will work with us to reconcile these deficiencies quickly,” she said. Africanews reports

Baby Jet Airlines Commence Operation next Month

Baby Jet Airlines Limited is a proposed domestic airline based in Ghana founded by professional footballer Asamoah Gyan.

The company has been awarded an Air Carriers Licence by the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority and expects to be awarded an Air Operators Certificate in time to start operations.

The much anticipated Baby Jet Airlines is expected to fully begin operations in February.

As report, Deputy Minister for Aviation, Kwabena Otchere Darko announced that Baby Jet Airline is among other Airlines expected to commence work next month.

“This year, we are looking at new operational areas that will bring in more customers or tourists, so we are linking more of our projects with the tourist centres,” Mr. Darko stated.

He added: “Apart from Passion Air, we also have Unity Air now operating, and we are expecting Baby Jet Airlines, which will be on stream by next month, and we have others also going through the processes, so, at least, we should have about five by close of the year.”

This was during the African Air show held at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA). The footballer himself later disclosed that 95% of work to get the Baby Jet airlines started has been done.

“I can confirm 95% of work has been done and hopefully between December and latest by January next year, the airlines will fully be operational,” Gyan told Accra-based Okay FM in December.
